The tank now has "waves" or "random water flow" after I added an EcoTech MP10ES which is a clever pump based on a variable speed propeller. It is able to simulate the random water flow found in real reefs.
No pictures/video yet, just nicer water movement in the tank. I'm still playing with the operational modes to learn which fits my tank best.

Mr. Six, partial water change and hand plucking of algae
Today, with the help of Bruno, did a 20L partial water change followed by manual hand plucking of green hair algae. There was less to remove than the previous time I did it, which is good, means it's growing slower,but I spent more time today trying to remove those in hard to reach places.
With the new water change method, even having to look after Bruno, if took less than 30 minutes.
And here are some updated pictures of Mr. Six, now better aquainted to the tank and his fellow tank mates.

Improving, Mg at 1200, PO4 at 0.1, NO3 at ZERO
Water quality is finally improving.... tested the water last Wednesday and the results are encouraging:
Salt= 1.027
pH = 8.4
Alk = 9dKH (the highest since tank start)
NH3/4 = 0
NO2 = 0.05 (could be less, hard to read the scale)
NO3 = 0
PO4 = 0.1 (could be 0.15, but down from 0.5 of recent weeks)
Ca = 450
Mg = 1200 (major victory, finally close to 1280)
The Acan continues to open and the zoas continue to look good, so, seems like I'm getting close to ideal levels.
Vodka dosing continues at 2.5ml per day. Did a partial water change of 30L on 17/Apr and another one of 20L on 23/Apr. 20L
